Come Home Yourself

You’ve held so much for so long—your family, your dreams, the weight of expectations, the stories no one sees. Maybe you’re tired of being the strong one. Maybe you’re craving a space where you get to unravel, to feel, to breathe.

At the intersection of mind, body, and soul, you’ll find support that’s both clinical and deeply compassionate. Rooted in trauma-informed care and holistic psychotherapy, my work honors the seasons of womanhood — from motherhood to grief, from burnout to breakthrough. Whether you’re unraveling old patterns, healing generational wounds, or simply learning how to rest, you’re in the right place.

Hiii, I’m Dr. Shayda

Hi, I’m Shayda Nematollahi, wife, mom, and a holistic trauma therapist + breathworker. As a holistic psychotherapist trained in mind-body medicine and somatic therapies, I help women untangle the roots of generational trauma, reconnect to their bodies, and return to a more compassionate relationship with themselves.

My work bridges the science of trauma therapy with the soul of holistic care. I integrate both Eastern and Western philosophies into therapy sessions and offer a truly holistic approach to healing. I view my work as a therapist as part of a larger collective, working to heal individual and intergenerational trauma to help heal the world. Whether you’re navigating the quiet ache of burnout, the weight of generational wounds, or the sacred messiness of motherhood, you don’t have to walk this path alone.

Through breath, story, and somatic healing, I hold space for you to soften, to unravel, to grieve, to grow, & to reconnect with the truth that lives inside you and free yourself from the cycles you’re ready to break.

Come as you are. I’ll meet you there.

Does This Sound Familiar?

“I look like I have it all together, but inside, I’m exhausted.” High-functioning doesn’t mean thriving. You’re carrying so much, and your nervous system is signaling it’s time to slow down — but you don’t know how to stop.
“I’m a mom now, but I feel like I’ve lost parts of myself I didn’t even know I’d miss.” Motherhood has reshaped you. You’re grieving, adjusting, becoming — and you deserve space to be seen in that.
“I’ve done talk therapy before… but I still feel stuck.” This work goes deeper. We integrate the body, the breath, and the nervous system to meet what words alone can’t always reach.

Dr. Shayda’s Approach to Therapy:

  • Holistic psychotherapy honors the connection between mind, body, and spirit. This approach goes beyond just talking—it invites in the wisdom of your body, your breath, your story, and your inner world. Together, we explore your emotional patterns, somatic experiences, and deeper beliefs to support healing that feels rooted, integrative, and lasting.

  • Trauma-informed therapy honors your pace, your boundaries, and your story. This approach recognizes the impact of trauma on the nervous system, relationships, and sense of self—and centers safety, trust, and empowerment in the healing process. Together, we gently explore what’s been held, and create space for resilience, regulation, and restoration.

  • Somatic therapy utilizes tools used during therapy sessions that focus on the body rather than the mind. Certain challenges require a different approach to treatment than traditional talk therapy or other cognitive (mind-based) methods. Therapy using only reasoning and logic is seldom sufficient, as the body is designed to have strong responses to traumatic distress that need space to feel released.

[somatic] adj: of, relating to, or affecting the the body

Our bodies, or soma, store the messages of our past. We are wired to respond to threats from our past to stay safe in the present.

Somatic therapy helps send messages to both your body and brain that you are safe and okay in the present so you can heal from the past.

Oftentimes, the feelings of anxiety that our body experiences are from triggers in our past.

In somatic therapy you will learn how to listen to these cues from your body and calm your anxiety in the present.

  • Paying Attention To Both Mind And Body Is Key To Lasting Change

Research shows that a unified approach to healing utilizing talk psychotherapy and somatic or movement-based methods is the most effective combination for success. With this therapeutic style, sensations in the body are seen and welcomed as information rather than symptoms, relaying important messages you can begin to understand rather than reject. The mind-body approach to therapy is ideal for people who are tired of the traditional talk therapy approach and want to experience something more holistic, deeper, and integrative.

When exposed to frightening experiences, your breath quickens, and tension builds throughout your body. Breathing and moving through this moment is helpful and soothing, but our culture often promotes stillness and silence to find peace in the midst of hard events. Without including somatic considerations in an effort to release trauma from your body, you are ignoring your innate healing capacities. Therapy involving somatic experiencing can teach you to gauge your body's feedback and gain tools to notice what your body is telling you.

Mind-body therapy works by regulating and soothing your autonomic nervous system (ANS) through breathing, movement, and gentle self-touch. Even small things can make a big difference. Activities like stretching and walking, touching pressure points, and other experiences utilizing all five senses can all help create regulation amid distressing memories, emotions, and other cognitive challenges.

During therapy sessions, you will work on building somatic awareness, increasing curiosity and connection to your body's sensations while building up a tolerance to be with challenging emotions. Mindfully staying connected to your body amid powerful emotions helps you regulate more effectively outside of therapy sessions when life’s normal ups and downs occur.
